Childish Major

Childish Major got his first taste of mainstream success as the producer of Rocko's "U.O.E.N.O." (2013), a Top 20 pop hit with a gold RIAA certification to match. That single preceded a string of sessions with the likes of Jeezy and J. Cole, and also led to his solo mixtape debut with WOO$AH (2017). His career has continued to escalate with highlights including songs placed on the soundtrack of Insecure's third season (2018), the album Dirt Road Diamond (2019), an appearance on Dreamville's Grammy-nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III, and another EP as a headliner, Thank you, God. For it all. (2021). Childish Major is the alias of Markus Randle, a native of Edgefield, South Carolina who has been based out of Atlanta, Georgia since 2011. As Randle immersed himself in the underground scene of his adopted hometown, he became a member of the Hoodrich roster, and in 2013 broke out of the region as the producer behind Rocko's coasting Future and Rick Ross collaboration "U.O.E.N.O." Released that March, the track was certified gold and a number 20 pop hit within five months. Randle's next major projects amid a slew of collaborations included Jeezy's 2014 album Seen It All: The Autobiography, for which he produced three tracks, and the co-production of the title track on J. Cole's chart-topping 2016 full-length 4 Your Eyez Only. He made his debut as a rapper/producer in 2017 with WOO$AH, an EP-length release supported with the singles "Happy Birthday" (featuring SZA and Isaiah Rashad) and the J. Cole-produced "Supply Luh." Two songs of his were placed on the soundtrack of Insecure's third season the following year: the frank "Know Nothing" and the unapologetically coarse "Ho for It," the latter with appearances from TT the Artist, Dreezy, and Cam & China, plus sampled proclamations from episodes courtesy of creator and star Issa Rae. Dirt Road Diamond, his full-length debut, was offered in 2019 with Ludacris, Buddy, and Tish Hyman among the guests. He also contributed that year to Dreamville's Revenge of the Dreamers III, which was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rap Album. Thank you, God. For it all., the second Childish Major EP, followed in 2021 on major-label Atlantic.
