Hevisaurus
High atop a magical mountain, a coven of witches chanted spells as lightning struck the earth. Five eggs made of metal were revealed underneath, hatching a group of prehistoric creatures with a serious need to rock. Thus HeviSaurus was born, or so the legend goes. Formed in 2009 by five Finnish parents who wanted some kid-friendly power metal for their own children, HeviSaurus proclaimed their love of milk and cookies, burping, furry animals, and the importance of school, garnering immense popularity with their target audience and parents alike. The studio band is comprised of Herra Hevisaurus (tyrannosaurus on vocals), Milli Pilli (triceratops on keyboards), Komppi Momppi (apatosaurus on drums), Riffi Raffi (a dragon on guitar), and Muffi Puffi (stegosaurus on bass), while performers in their live concerts rotate. After their 2009 debut, Jurahevin Kuninkaat ("Kings of Jurassic Metal"), they released successively popular albums, peaking in 2012 with the Finnish-chart-topper, Kadonneen Louhikaarmeen Arvoitus. Though signed with Sony Music Finland, a contract dispute in 2011 briefly forced the creation of a competitor band -- made up of the same human members -- called SauruXet, who only released one album, Saurusplaneetta. In Argentina, they even have some franchise counterparts -- Heavysaurios -- who sing the same songs, but in Spanish. They won Finnish and Argentinian Grammy-equivalents for Best Children's Music, opened amusement parks, and starred in video games and a full-length movie. Their sixth set, Vihrea Vallankumous, followed in 2013, rising to the Top Ten of the Finnish charts. In 2015, they issued Soittakaa Juranoid!, home to single "Juranoid." That year, word spread to the United States, exposing them to a new audience. The beastly quintet returned in 2017 with Mikä Minusta Tulee Isona? ("What Will I Be When I Grow Up?").
