Jaehyun

Singer Jaehyun is a popular performer, best recognized as a member of the globally recognized K-pop boy band NCT and its sub-units. He debuted with NCT in 2016 and has appeared on all of the group's chart-topping albums. In 2024, he released his first solo album, hitting number three in South Korea with the full-length, JAEHYUN: The 1st Album 'J'. Born Jeong Jae-hyun in 1997 in Seoul, South Korea, Jaehyun spent time in the United States living in Connecticut between ages five and 10. After returning to South Korea, he became interested in music, learning guitar, piano, and eventually singing. He attended a performing arts high school where he graduated in 2016. It was while still in school, however, that he was scouted by SM Entertainment and in 2013 became a member of the SM Rookies trainee team and in 2016 officially debuted as a member of the NCT sub-units NCT U and NCT 127. Following a series of singles, he was featured on NCT's official debut album, 2018's NCT 2018 Empathy, which reached number two in South Korea and five on the Billboard World chart. With NCT, he has appeared on all three of the group's chart-topping albums, including NCT 2020 Resonance, 2021's Universe: The 3rd Album, Neo Culture Technology, and 2023's Golden Age. Away from the group, Jaehyun expanded into hosting music show, as well as acting in film and television shows. In August 2024, he released his debut solo album, JAEHYUN: The 1st Album 'J', which featured the singles "Smoke," "Roses," and "Dandelion." The album reached number three in South Korea, seven in Japan, and hit number eleven on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. That October, he also released the standalone single "Unconditional," just ahead of starting his mandatory military service.
