Julian Fane
Much like Sigur Rós, Dntel, and M83, Vancouver, Canada's Julian Fane makes spacious, atmospheric music that blurs the boundaries between electronica and dream pop. The singer/multi-instrumentalist/programmer performed with the band Waikiki and made experimental electronic pieces under the monikers Aardvark Interface and Taoist Blockade, but had a full-time job as a day trader on NASDAQ, which he eventually quit to focus on his music. After signing to Planet Mu, he released the debut album Special Forces in fall 2004.
