Baby Jungle

The strength of his street knowledge gave Baby Jungle the foundation to make it in the rap game, and his evolving flow and style have only earned him more fans as his music has matured. After getting his first taste of viral fame in 2019 with the track “Purge,” he collaborated with fellow up-and-comers like the late Lil Keed and Luh Tyler, diversifying his sound and enticing a major label to release his debut mixtape, 2024’s Jungle Book. Born Sean Douglas, Jr. in Macon, Georgia, Baby Jungle was surrounded by hip-hop at a young age -- his uncle owned a local studio -- but it took him time to learn how to harness his talent and penchant for writing verses. After becoming too familiar with the gang scene and getting suspended from school, he briefly relocated to South Carolina to recharge, and started to find his muse. Upon returning home, he started uploading tracks here and there: early singles “Jungle Fever” and “Purge,” from 2019, showcased him honing his talent. A year later, Jungle's fortunes started to improve when he recruited local upstart Lil Keed (signed to Young Thug's YSL label, one of the biggest in Atlanta in the early 2020s) to add verses to a remix of “Purge” that went even more viral than the original. After releasing singles at a steady clip, 2023 saw him increase focus, linking up with other rappers including Florida’s Luh Tyler (on “Groove In”) and Keed's brother Lil Gotit (“Type Shit”). That same year, Jungle made headlines for partnering with the city of Macon to donate bail for eight nonviolent inmates so they could be reunited with their families for the holidays. Solo track “No Dissin” was his first for Epic Records; subsequent tracks like the acoustic, contemplative “Slide Bout It” (about the death of his brother) and the bawdy “Freaknik” served as teasers for his debut mixtape, Jungle Book, released in 2024.
