Breaking Southwest
Breaking Southwest is a big, bright modern country outfit that hails from the Dallas, Texas area. They belong to lineage that runs through the Band Perry: they crank up the guitars and beats but they never seem noisy thanks to their facility with pop hooks.
The group has its roots in an acoustic duo formed in 2010. Over the years, the band expanded to a trio featuring Kent Bell, Kyle Gaston, and Lauren Hall, supported by four additional musicians. They released their debut, Reckless & Wild, in 2012, which was followed by Take a Moment in 2013. A 2015 EP called Summer Sessions continued to build their audience, and they gained greater recognition that December when they won Cumulus' talent competition NASH Next Challenge, earning them a record contract with the new NASH Next record label.
