Real Boston Richey

Real Boston Richey's sound combines the flows and slang of his native Florida with punch lines and production reminiscent of Detroit-style trap. The Tallahassee-raised rapper quickly earned attention after he started making music in 2021, with singles like "Keep Dissing" and "Certified Dripper" streaming in the millions. These tracks preceded the 2022 full-length Public Housing, which featured guest appearances from stars like Future and Lil Durk. Richey's major-label debut, Welcome to Bubba Land, arrived in 2023, and he continued issuing singles such as 2024's "Help Me," which appeared on the album Richey Rich. Jalen Foster learned how to rap through his cousin and mentor Slugg, who was shot and killed in 2015. However, he didn't pursue music as a career until his friend persuaded him to visit a recording studio in 2021. The session produced his first song as Real Boston Richey, "Big Y.I.C," which was followed by others such as "Bullseye." "Keep Dissing," which set Richey's creaky voice to icy strings and distorted drum machines, appeared in March 2022, instantly clocking millions of streams. With follow-ups like "Everybody" and "Certified Dripper," he became one of the most talked-about rappers from Tallahassee since T-Pain, though Richey relocated to Miami. He signed with Future's FreeBandz label and released his debut album, Public Housing, in August 2022. Featuring appearances by Future as well as Lil Durk, Kodak Black, and Moneybagg Yo, the release hit the Top 40 of Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. An extended version, Public Housing, Pt. 2, appeared in 2023. Richey then issued the EP Trapping & Finessing, as well as singles like "5 Star" and "My Image." The full-length Welcome to Bubba Land, his first release as part of a deal with Epic, arrived that September. He then released "The Type," featuring YTB Fatt. After appearing on C Stunna's 2024 single "Lose Control," Richey released the solo single "Help Me," which became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry, peaking at number 47. Richey Rich included collaborations with GloRilla and Lil Yachty, and it landed at number 48 on the Billboard 200.
