Kings Elliot

The singer and songwriter known as Kings Elliot introduced her brooding, self-examining pop in 2020 on the single "I'm Getting Tired of Me," a streaming hit that led to a major-label contract. She continued to explore mental-health struggles through her lyrics as well as lilting melodies and overcast palettes on releases like 2021's Chaos in My Court EP and the next year's Bored of the Circus EP. Born in Switzerland and based in London, Kings Elliot's earliest musical memories involve singing karaoke in pubs with her mother beginning around age nine. She was later diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and found refuge in writing songs as a means of expression. Accompanied by a stark music video of Elliot having an on-camera panic attack, her debut single, "I'm Getting Tired of Me," struck a chord with millions of online listeners and, along with the equally brittle follow-up, "Dancing Alone," drew the interest of Verve. These songs and successive singles were collected on the EP Chaos in My Court, released on Verve that December. The year 2022 brought Bored of the Circus, an EP of piano-based ballads; "Lost Again," her theme for the survival horror game The Callisto Protocol; and a tour with Macklemore and Imagine Dragons. In the meantime, Elliot was nominated for Best New Artist at the Swiss Music Awards.
