HA-ASH
Ha*Ash, a Latin-American pop group from Lake Charles, Louisiana, was formed in 2002 by sisters Ashley Grace Pérez (vocals, guitar, melodica, piano) and Hanna Nicole Pérez (vocals, guitar, bass, kick drum, piano, pandero). Mixing pop, country and funk, the duo, who got their start in music as children singing in church, draw their inspiration primarily from figures such as Shania Twain, Loretta Lynn, Dixie Chicks and Patsy Cline. Following an inaugural single entitled "Odio Amarte", which reached No. 2 in Mexico, Ha*Ash scored her first No. 1 the following year with "Estés Donde Estés". In 2003, these two tracks appeared on the first album, soberly titled Ha*Ash, which reached No. 3 in Mexico. Two years later, Mundos Opuestos, which marks their move from Columbia Records to Sony Music BMG, reaches #8 in the Mexican charts. The three albums that followed, Habitación Doble in 2008 (#6), A Tiempo in 2011 (#4) and 30 de Febrero in 2017 (#11), validated Ha*Ash as one of Latin pop's blue chips. Similarly, their two live albums, Primera Fila: Hecho Realidad in 2014 and Ha*Ash: En Vivo in 2019, hit No.1 in the Mexican charts. Their best-known tracks include, for example, the No. 1s "¿Qué Hago Yo?" (2006), "No Te Quiero Nada" and "Lo Que Yo Sé de Ti" (both 2008), "Impermeable" and "Te Dejo en Libertad" (both 2011) or more recently "Eso No Va a Suceder" (2018), or "Si Tú No Vuelves" (2019, with Miguel Bosé). In 2022, the duo returned to the charts with the track "Supongo Que Lo Sabes" (#85), included on their sixth album, Haashtag. After undertaking the Gira Mi Salida Contigo tour throughout 2022 and 2023, Ha*Ash presented the album Haashville in 2024, returning to their country pop roots.
