Maggie Antone

Maggie Antone first proved her mettle as a country singer with engaging covers, first on social media and then on her debut album Interpretations. He follow-up Rhinestoned proved she is just as adept at writing songs for the genre, too, as evidenced by clever, catchy numbers like “Johnny Moonshine” and “Suburban Outlaw.” The Richmond, Virginia native, born in 2002, possessed a head-turning voice from a young age -- a natural talent that spurred her parents to support her musical ambitions, bolstering her with vocal lessons and gigs in school musicals. At 16, she started writing her own songs, and soon took to social media to share them alongside covers that made fine use of her vocal instrument. In 2021, a video cover of Tyler Childer's “Lady May” went viral; she followed it up with a take on a classic country anthem (Dolly Parton's “Jolene”) and a deep cut from country-pop icon John Denver (“Blow Up Your TV [Spanish Pipe Dream]”). Those songs formed the basis for her debut release, 2022’s Interpretations, which added covers of everyone from Beyoncé (“Daddy Lessons”) to blink-182 (“Adam’s Song”). Antone's singer/songwriter bona fides made her an ideal collaborator; she guested on tracks by 49 Winchester and Willow Avalon. She teamed up with writers like Natalie Hemby (the Highwomen), Trent Dabbs (Kacey Musgraves), and Aaron Raitiere (Lady Gaga) for 2024’s Rhinestoned, her first album of originals. Tunes like “Johnny Moonshine,” “High Standards,” and “Mess with Texas” deftly combined smart wordplay with fine-tuned melodies in Antone's easygoing drawl. She spent the year honing her live act on tour alongside Red Clay Strays and Trampled by Turtles, among others, and made an appearance at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
