Beka

British singer Beka is known for her sonically dreamy and lush approach to dancey electronic pop and R&B. She initially drew attention for her work with HONNE, before going solo with her 2020 single "I'll Be There." An EP, Your Skin, arrived in 2022, followed by singles like "Tears" and "Forever." Born in Nottingham, Rebeka Prance (aka Beka) grew up in an artistic, culturally diverse household with a cellist father of British and Nigerian descent and a dancer mother of British and West Indian descent. She became interested in singing at a young age, raised on a blend of classic soul artists including Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, and Chaka Khan, and later, Lauryn Hill. By her teens, she was writing her own songs and eventually studied vocals and music at university. There, she formed the electronic duo These Your Children with fellow singer/songwriter Joe Baxter. It was while in school that she met HONNE and began collaborating with the duo, singing on several of their tracks and touring. In October 2020, she made her solo debut with the single "I'll Be There." Two years later, she released her debut EP, Your Skin, which featured "Don't Call Me a Friend." More songs followed in 2023 with "Tears" and "Vulnerable." In 2024, she contributed the song "Forever" to the Apple + TV series Trying.
