Sophie Powers

Canadian hyperpop upstart Sophie Powers blends yearning vocals, kinetic dance grooves, and blown-out emo guitar riffs into her own maximalist style. She debuted with 2022's Red in Revenge EP before gaining wider buzz in 2024 with interjectively titled singles like "Woah!" and her Baby Tate team-up "Awesome." Born in 2004 in Toronto, Powers began singing at a young age and by her early teens was writing her own songs. With her parents' blessing, she switched to online school and eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music career. In 2022, she issued her debut EP, Red in Revenge, which introduced her dynamic hyperpop sound. She has continued to expand her approach, releasing singles like 2023's "Nosebleed" and 2024's "Woah!" (featuring kets4eki), "PLAYBOi," and "Awesome" (featuring Baby Tate).
