Brenda Mada
Born in Madagascar and raised in Belgium, Brenda Mada is a pop singer and songwriter who relocated to Atlanta, Georgia before releasing her debut single at the age of 18. She began singing in early childhood, eventually taking up the guitar and piano, and later made an effort to practice writing songs in English rather than her first language, French (she also speaks Dutch). After uploading a series of video covers of artists such as Rihanna and Ariana Grande, Mada signed with Def Jam Recordings and Bangladesh Music Group for her official first single, "House Party." Infused with reggae-pop and smooth R&B, it was released in early 2017. The-Dream, Sean Garrett, and Tricky Stewart were among the talent enlisted to collaborate on her full-length debut.
