Lekan

Singer Lekan is a Nigerian American R&B performer with a sweet-toned style that blends throwback soul with contemporary vibes. He first garnered attention with singles like 2023's "Familiar" before issuing his debut EP, 2024's So You Know. Born in Brooklyn, Lekan grew up in Columbus, Ohio in a family who had immigrated from Nigeria. He was introduced to music by his father, a choir director. He also took drum and piano lessons in his youth. As a teenager, he gravitated towards a blend of classic soul artists like Donny Hathaway and D'Angelo, along with contemporary singers like the Weeknd, and began writing his own songs. He eventually relocated to Los Angeles and released singles like 2023's "Familiar," "Need Somebody," and "Pray for Me." In 2024, he delivered his debut EP, So You Know. On the heels of the record's release, he joined Tems as a support act on tour.
