Powers Pleasant

Powers Pleasant is a hip-hop producer, DJ, and drummer from Brooklyn, associated with the Pro Era collective and supergroup Beast Coast. His chameleonic production style incorporates trap, rock, soul, club music, and other genres. Outside of both groups, he has worked with artists including BTS, Princess Nokia, Sampa the Great, and Denzel Curry (who gave Pleasant his producer tag, "Got the beat by Powers and we just made a banger!"). His debut album, Life Is Beautiful, appeared in 2019, and Life Sucks followed in 2024. Co-founder of the collective Pro Era with Joey Bada$$, CJ Fly, and the late Capital Steez, he took part in Joey's rise, touring as his DJ and co-producing his Billboard-charting 2016 single "Devastated" as well as songs on his Top Five album All-Amerikkkan Bada$$. Meanwhile, Pleasant uploaded his own soul sample-based productions, with tracks like 2014's "Stop Lyin to Me" and 2015's "Fo$ter My Love" finding a following, as well as his production work for artists including the Underachievers and Ak the savior. In 2018, Pleasant made his official debut via Commission Music with the self-produced "Pull Up" featuring Joey Bada$$ and A$AP Ferg. That track, along with seven others, appeared on his official full-length debut, Life Is Beautiful, which arrived the following year. Pleasant co-produced the BTS and Juice WRLD song "All Night," and also worked with artists like Princess Nokia, $NOT, and Rich Brian. "Evil Twin" (with Denzel Curry and ZillaKami) appeared in 2021, and another collaborative track, "Overseas" (with Maxo Kream, Erick the Architect, Bas, and Kenny Mason), was released in 2022. Life Sucks, Pleasant's second album, was issued in 2024, and its extensive guest list included Saba, Tkay Maidza, AG Club, and Meechy Darko.
