Flowerkid

The vulnerable, lovelorn indie pop/rock of flowerkid is an outlet for the dreams and disappointments of songwriter/producer Flynn Sant. He was still in his mid-teens when he released his debut single, "Late Night Therapy," in 2018. With eventual support from Triple J radio, flowerkid had garnered millions of streams for that song and its follow-up, "boy with the winfields and the wild heart" by the time he delivered his moody debut EP everyone has a breaking point, in 2021. Continuing to exhibit jumps in production sophistication along the way, the musician's second EP, the quietly atmospheric LET IT BE ENOUGH, was released in 2023. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Flynn Sant was 16 years old when he self-released his first single, "Late Night Therapy," in March 2018. A confessional piano-and-keys outing, it was followed a month later by the acoustic guitar-based "boy with the winfields and the wild heart." Both songs had respectable streaming numbers, drawing notice from Triple J radio, which began adding his songs to their rotation in 2019. In 2020, flowerkid landed a worldwide management deal that included Billie Eilish and FINNEAS' rep in North America, and additionally signed record contracts with Warner Music Australia, Atlantic (U.S.), and Parlophone (U.K.). The songwriter's major-label debut, November 2021's everyone has a breaking point, continued in the same intimate, self-conscious state of mind of his early songs but with more wide-ranging production and arrangements by Sant, including dips into indie rock. One of the singles, "It's happening again," was a collaboration with KUČKA that appeared on several highly coveted playlists. Featuring songs with titles like "SLEEP," "MELOTONE," and "HEAVY LISTENING," the dreamier LET IT BE ENOUGH EP followed in November 2023.
