Marian Renta

Marian Renta is a singer, songwriter, and producer known for her passionate, R&B-inflected adult alternative balladry and minimalist approach to production. She released her first album, One of a Kind, in 2011 before taking a hiatus from music and returning ten years later with the EPs Headfirst and Great Deep. Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Newport News, Virginia, Renta had formal music training as a child, studying piano, composition, and theory. Her father was a disc jockey with an extensive record collection that helped influence her passion for music. During high school, she began producing demos and writing songs for other students. After earning a bachelor's degree in business, Renta completed her own debut album, One of a Kind, in 2011. After taking a break from music in the latter half of the 2010s, Renta eventually began writing and recording again. The EP Headfirst appeared in early 2021, just months before a second EP, Great Deep, in July.
