Naam
Naam formed in Brooklyn in 2009, drawing influence from a bevy of psychedelic and spaced-out bands to create their heavy sound. Original core members included vocalist/guitarist Ryan Lee Lugar, bassist John Preston Bundy, and drummer Eli Pizzuto. After a self-released EP in 2009 entitled Kingdom, the trio signed a deal with Teepee Records and released their self-titled debut in the fall of the same year. The group toured extensively, first in the States and then overseas, supporting like-minded bands and even snagging a spot at the Roadburn Festival. As the years drew on, Naam released a limited 7" of Nirvana covers as well as the Starchild EP in 2011. In 2012 they were joined by keyboardist John "Fingers" Weingarten, expanding their sound with trippy droning organ and keys. Second full-length Vow was released in 2013 and Naam continued their seemingly endless touring schedule.
