Xay Capisce
With an aggressive flow and unflinching lyrics, Alabama-bred rapper Xay Capisce serves hard-edged Dirty South trap influenced by predecessors such as 2Pac, UGK, Three 6 Mafia, and T.I. Though Capisce is an Alabama native, his style veers closer to his Atlanta counterparts and focuses on gritty street life, the trap house, and plenty of sex. Following an extended prison stint, he released a series of comeback singles before issuing his 2018 mixtape On God.
Growing up in a musical family, he dabbled in music before his career was put on hold in the late 2000s. Serving eight years in prison -- outlined in his single "Slum" -- he was released in late 2017 and promptly began releasing music. Singles such as "Beat It Up" and "Yeen Lit" built an audience as Capisce established his own label, Key Note Entertainment. 2018 single "Money Way" with Hoodrich Pablo Juan landed on his mixtape On God, which was hosted by DJ Scream. He followed with a sequel in 2019, On God 2, which included "Get What You Want" and "Do It Again."
