Jason Upton

A Wisconsin-based singer/songwriter and recording artist with the heart of a pastor, Jason Upton blends contemporary worship music with folk inspiration on an extensive, decades-spanning catalog. After finishing his Master of Divinity degree in 2000, he began releasing his first recordings -- including his debut Key of David -- gaining greater popularity over the course of the 2010s. Released in 2020, God Finds Us coincided with the 20th anniversary of his debut. Born December 15, 1973, in Minneapolis, Upton was raised in a Christian family. At the age of 15, he began ministering and traveled throughout the United States preaching. He released his debut, Key of David, in 2000 as part of his Key of David Ministries. A second album, Faith, recorded live, appeared in 2001. In 2002, he released the studio albums Jacob's Dreams and Dying Star, which were followed by Remember in 2003. In 2007, Between Earth and Sky was featured on CBN's Best Christian Contemporary Albums list. That same year, he issued his tenth album, Beautiful People, and followed that with 1200 Ft. Below Sea Level in 2008. He teamed with the Goodland Band for 2009's On the Rim of the Visible World; they also appeared on 2010's Family Music. Next up were three live albums: 2010's Live from Dublin: Songs, Stories and a Train, 2012's Glimpse, and 2013's Sunday Morning, Live in Winston Salem. Upton launched his A Table Full of Strangers project in 2015, releasing the first volume that year. A second installment, A Table Full of Strangers, Vol. 2, arrived in 2018. Two years later, he released God Finds Us.
