XYLØ

XYLØ are an electro-pop brother-and-sister duo composed of Chase Duddy (producer, drummer, songwriter) and Paige Duddy (vocalist, songwriter). The pair come from a musical family, and their grandfather was a notable jazz drummer, studio percussionist, and chair at the Los Angeles College of Music's drum department. Following his musical path, both his grandchildren went on to attend the college. Despite the ten-year age gap between the siblings, they connected through music, and in 2014 began work on what would become their debut single. The duo released the single "America" in 2015; it garnered comparisons to Lana Del Ray and Lorde, and was subsequently picked up for a PacSun commercial starring Kendall and Kylie Jenner. The added exposure for the track resulted in over 1.6 million listens on SoundCloud and a number one spot on Hypemachine. In the same year, they also released "Afterlife," performed their first headline show on Oh Wonder in Los Angeles, and signed to Sony Music Entertainment. At the beginning of 2016, XYLØ announced that they would be releasing their first EP, containing all the singles they had put out so far. America appeared in February that year, and following its release, they embarked on an American tour in support of it. They subsequently put out an anti-Donald Trump song, "Fool's Paradise," and later in 2016, the duo were also featured on the Chainsmokers' single "Setting Fires" from their College EP. The following year brought the release of the singles "I Still Wait for You" and "Alive," followed in 2018 by several more singles, including "Heaven Only Knows" and "Tears & Tantrums." The catchy "Nothing Left to Say" appeared in early 2019.
