High Holy Days

Blue-collar Canadian rockers High Holy Days emerged in 2002 with a melodic, guitar-driven sound that combines post-grunge, '70s- and '80s-influenced hard rock, and soaring alternative rock. They found success in 2004 with the release of their debut album, All My Real Friends. The band was founded in 2002 in North Bay, Ontario, by core members Marc Arcand (vocals) and Bill MacGregor (guitar), alongside Jeremy Galda (bass) and Jason Guindon, all of whom had worked together in the like-minded Arcand Band in 1998. Rebranding themselves as High Holy Days, they inked a deal with Roadrunner Records in 2003 and began working on their debut album. The resulting All My Real Friends arrived two years later and quickly found favor with mainstream rock radio, with the title track and "The Getaway" garnering acclaim from audiences both at home and abroad. In 2005, High Holy Days earned a "Best New Band" nomination from the Canadian Radio Music Awards, and in 2006 they started work on their sophomore effort. Despite finishing the LP, it never saw release, and the group spent the ensuing years continuing to perform on and off. The band reissued All My Real Friends digitally for streaming and download platforms in 2020.
