Waxx

Benjamin Hekimian is a French rocker known under the pseudonym Waxx for his skills as a guitarist and producer. He federates a community on his YouTube channel, dubbed Comité des Reprises, which he has been running with the help of PV Nova since 2014. During these videos, he regularly invites artists who agree to cover their own songs alongside him, in an offbeat way. He has thus welcomed Sting, Oxmo Puccino and Vianney. He began his discography with a group in 2007, Naosol & Waxx, with singer and guitarist Guillaume Héribert, who works under the name Naosol, as well as bassist Patrick Dethorey and drummer Mathieu Gayout. Together, they put together two albums, 1968, released in 2009, and Game Over? three years later, which blend folk and 1960s-influenced rock. In 2016, he produced Ben l'Oncle Soul's album Under My Skin . Two years later, his name began to transcend French borders, and he was invited by the band Thirty Seconds to Mars to perform on "Rescue Me" at Rock en Seine. In 2019, he delivers his first studio album, for Mercury Records. Called Fantôme, it blends rock and trap in a singular mix. It is promoted by the track "Hotel Room" , on which Youtubeur Mister V makes a guest appearance. In 2023, alongside multi-instrumentalist C. Cole, he released a new album of rock instrumentals, Lithium (No. 66 in France), featuring guest appearances from rap stars such as Sopico, Le Juiice, Georgio and Youv Dee. In 2024, the musician extended the concept of his YouTube channel to an album, Étincelles , featuring 17 duets. Guest artists - Matthieu Chédid, Pomme, Ben Mazué and Cœur de Pirate, among others - cover international pop and French chanson classics alongside him. The concept appeals to the French public, and the album reaches number 12 in the charts.
