Black V Neck

The tech house duo Black V Neck was formed by Ian Beato and Julian Sacheli in Miami, Florida. Before launching the project in 1997, Beato and Sacheli both played French Horn in a college marching band and pursued solo careers as DJs. Mentored by Shiba San, they formed an electronic duo and began collaborating on original songs like "Let Me Smash," which released released by San's label, Basement Leak, and peaked at Number 23 on Beatport's Tech House chart. Another breakthrough arrived in 2019, when Black V Neck signed with Dirtybird Records and released a two-song EP titled Mouth Music. Both singles from the EP became dance hits on the Top 100 Tech House chart, with "Sex, Drugs, Alcohol" reaching Number 11 and the title track peaking at Number 20. Beato and Sacheli began performing at electronic festivals, always dressed in matching v-neck shirts. As their reputation for energetic performances grew, so did their catalog of electronic music, with singles like 2020's "Them Girls" and 2021's "Like Whoa" continuing to maintain the duo's spot on the Top 100 Tech House listing. Black V Neck hit a newfound prolific peak in 2022, releasing a string of singles — including "Talk," "Tego," "Day n Night," and "Ba Da Bam" — that furthered their reputation as tech house heavyweights.
