Jeff Buckley
Jeff Buckley is de zoon van liedjesschrijver Tim Buckley en om die reden werd bijzonder veel van de muzikant verwacht. Misschien was het wel te verwachten dat de muziekstijl van Buckley slechts in kleine mate op die van zijn vader leek. Buckleys stem was indrukwekkend en overweldigend, en paste perfect bij zijn muziek, dat een kruising was tussen Van Morrison en Led Zeppelin. Buckley bracht twee geslaagde studioalbums, een handjevol ep’s en talloze liveopnames uit. In 1997 kwam hij om het leven. Hij verdronk in de Mississippi op dertigjarige leeftijd. In 1998 verscheen een verzameling nog niet verschenen opnames, ‘Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk’.
