Lee Young Ji

The first female winner of iconic South Korean rap show Show Me the Money, rapper and singer Lee Young Ji uses her strong flow and versatile vocals to land charting hits like "Not Sorry" and "Small Girl." She issued her debut EP, 16 Fantasy, in June 2024, sweeping up music show awards for its lead single, "Small Girl." South Korean rapper and singer Lee Young Ji (born Lee Young-ji) began her musical career like many of South Korea's budding talents, facing off against competitors on survival shows: the winner of 2019's High School Rapper 3, she made her solo debut with the glassy trap of 2019's "Dark Room." With an insistent vocal delivery and punchy flow, the rapper found early collaborative work alongside Young Kay, Layone, and Twlv, closing out the year with a strong chain of features and her sophomore single, "New History." Through 2020, she expanded her range across varied early singles -- like the singer/songwriter-led "Just" and glitchy "Walga" -- before finding her first major breakthrough with the 2021 Jay Park collaboration "Day & Night." Her true breakout moment, however, came with a dominant run on rap competition series Show Me the Money 11 (2022): after producing the number four-charting hit "Not Sorry" for the show's third episode, Lee Young Ji went on to win the competition outright, becoming the first female winner in the show's history. Promoting under Kakao's imprint Mainstream, she issued her debut EP, 16 Fantasy, in 2024. The six-track project, breaking the mold across alt-R&B, trap, and singer/songwriter styles, landed the performer her first number one hit with the English-language R&B single "Small Girl," which topped the Circle Digital Chart and secured numerous music-show wins.
