Tanerélle

Tanerélle is a self-starting neo-soul singer who initially found success with a series of independent, soulful releases like the crowd-funded EP 11:11 (2017). Over time, her following grew thanks to key song placements in television, solid opening slots on tour, and ultimately, the 2024 major-label release Electric Honey, released more than a decade after she started making music. Tanerélle Stephens was born and raised by a single mother in Atlanta, Georgia. Though she’d initially pursued acting, moving to Los Angeles and attending a performing arts program in college, she soon took to the stage as a musician. Inspired by generations of Southern performers from OutKast to Usher, Tanerélle put her own spaced-out, electronic spin on neo-soul, starting with debut single “Siren” in 2015. Two years later, she released the EP 11:11 after successfully raising money for its recording through crowdfunding. Gradually, more of her independent releases garnered considerable streams, including 2018’s “Love from Ngc 7318” and the 2019 follow-ups “Continuum” and “Mama Saturn.” Her 2020 single “Nothing Without You” featured in an episode of Issa Rae's acclaimed HBO series Insecure, while another, “Star,” was remixed by A$AP Ferg. Tours with Ari Lennox and JoJo would follow, along with another EP, 2022’s 82 Moons, and a clutch of singles. Her years of independent activity culminated in a deal with major-label Republic Records in 2024, which released Electric Honey the same year.
