Hayden Calnin

Australian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Hayden Calnin emerged in the early 2010s with an intimate yet quietly anthemic sound rooted in atmospheric folk-pop with electronic flourishes. Debuting in 2012 with the City EP, which included the streaming hit "For My Help," he continued to refine his sound on the expansive 2016 double album Cut Love and 2021's cinematic and reflective What It Means to Be Human. Based out of Melbourne, the self-taught musician majored in sound design while attending film school, and turned that knowledge into a successful production career, helming projects for other artists and seeing his works appear in television programs like The Good Doctor, Suits, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, and So You Think You Can Dance. In 2012, Calnin released his debut EP, City. The single "For My Help," which evoked the lush indie folk of Bon Iver, James Blake, and Tom Odell, garnered over seven million streams and paved the way for 2016's Cut Love, an ambitious double album that yielded the hits "Caution Cares" and the epic title cut. He issued the evocative streaming hit "Warm with You" in 2019. Calnin relocated to the Pacific Coast in 2021 and composed, recorded, and produced the deeply introspective What It Means to Be Human; like its predecessors, the LP was released on Nettwerk Records.
