Natalia Jiménez

Natalia Jiménez is a Spanish singer/songwriter currently based in Mexico City and Miami, Florida. An internationally successful solo artist, she began her professional career as lead vocalist for Latin pop band La Quinta Estación; they released nearly two-dozen Top 40 singles in Spain and Mexico, as well as several platinum-selling albums. La 5ª Estación went on hiatus in November 2010 and Jiménez began a solo career that has netted numerous charting albums, including 2019's star-studded global smash Mexico de Mi Corazon. A second volume appeared in 2021. The live mini-album De Jiménez a Jiménez appeared in 2024. Born and raised in Madrid, Jiménez's parents were both musicians. She began writing songs during her childhood. At 15 she began playing her original songs and standards on Madrid's streets and in subway stations. In 2011 she signed a deal with BMG Entertainment and became the lead vocalist of chart-topping La 5ª Estación with guitarist and co-songwriter Ángel Reyero. They recorded five charting albums between 2001 and 2010, including three gold- and platinum-certified recordings. When the band went on hiatus, Jiménez opted to start a solo career. Her first solo appearance was as a guest on Ricky Martin's "Lo Mejor de Mi Vida Eres Tú." Her own debut single, 2011's "Por Ser Tu Mujer," charted. Later that year she released her eponymous debut album. It landed at the top of various digital Latin charts won a Premio lo Nuestro award for best new artist. She turned in a duet performance with Daddy Yankee on his 2013 hit "La Noche de los Dos." A year later she began working as a coach for Telemundo's talent show La Voz Kids. At the end of 2014, she charted with the single "Quedate con Ella." Her sophomore album, Creo en Mi, appeared in early 2015, and topped the Puerto Rican charts, as well as peaking at number two on the U.S. Top Latin Albums. In the fall of 2016, she released her tribute to Mexico's Jenni Rivera, Homenaje a la Gran Senora. It received two Latin Grammy nominations. She followed with 2019's México de Mi Corazón, a tribute to the Mexican musicians who created the modern canon including Juan Gabriel, Rocío Dúrcal, and Javier Solís. It was recorded live at the TV Azteca studios, the set for the Sony series Primera Fila. Her star-studded cast included Carlos Rivera (brother of Jenni), Lila Downs, El Bebeto, Paquita la del Barrio, Pedro Fernández, and the MS Band of Sergio Lizárraga, offering mariachi, banda, and ranchera tunes. A second chapter appeared in 2021, featuring some of the same guests as well as Ana Barbara, Gerardo Ortiz, and Joss Favela. In 2023, Jiménez and her former La 5ª Estación bandmate Reyero announced a reunion. In 2024, the singer released an eight-track, live mini-album titled De Jiménez a Jiménez in tribute to the iconic Mexican songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez.
