Bro'Sis

One of the myriad of formulated groups to emerge around the world in the wake of television programs like Pop Idol or Popstar, Bro'Sis was created in 2001 during the second season of Germany's Popstar. Originally a six-member band, Bro'Sis -- comprised of show winners Shaham Joyce, Hila Bronstein, Giovanni Zarella, Ross Antony, Faiz-Kevin Magnat and Verena "Indira" Weis -- released Never Forget (Where You Came From), an album that topped both German and Austrian charts, in 2002. The next year Days of Our Lives came out, but not before Indira announced she was leaving Bro'Sis. Later that year the then-quintet collaborated with fellow Popstar bands on a cover of "Do They Know It's Christmas," and in 2004 their third, and what would turn out to be their final, album, Showtime, was released. The record lent a bigger hip-hop flavor to the group, although it failed to do well commercially, and the following year Bro'Sis announced they were on hiatus, which, by the time 2006 rolled around, had clearly turned into a breakup, with the individual members vowing to pursue solo projects.
