Chymes

Australian singer and songwriter Chymes has a gentle vocal lilt that she applies to hypnotic and sultry electronic-based pop. She debuted to viral buzz with the 2016 song "Dreaming" off her Glow EP and returned in 2021 with the Hell & Divine EP. Born Kiersten Nyman, Chymes grew up in the Central Coast, New South Wales, and started writing songs in her teens after teaching herself how to play guitar. She eventually joined forces with songwriter/producer Cameron Taylor, crafting atmospheric indie electronic tracks. They began posting songs online and in 2016 released Glow. The EP gained an unexpected boost when K-pop singer and BTS member Jungkook shared their song "Dreaming" on social media; it went viral and, along with another of their songs, "Oracle," placed near the top of the Korean digital streaming charts. In May 2021, Chymes issued her second EP, Hell & Divine, which again featured collaborations with Taylor. Included on the release was the song "Made of You."
