Michèle Torr

Michèle Torr was born in Pertuis, Vaucluse, in 1947. Representing a tradition of French chanson that deliberately goes beyond fashion, the singer has maintained her position, like Frédéric François, by strength of hand and contact with the public. This survivor of the yéyés and the variété has relied above all on her unfailing professionalism, from her first hit "C'est dur d'avoir seize ans " in 1964 to the heyday of "Emmène-moi danser ce soir " in 1978. In 1995, Michèle Torr released a country album, and in 2003, a tribute to her idol Edith Piaf. The triple album Chanter C'est Prier released in 2012 reflects her faith through cover versions. In 2015, she celebrated fifty years in the music business with the album Diva.
