Cooking Vinyl

Thirty years after its debut release Cooking Vinyl remains one of the original and best indie labels in the UK. Cooking Vinyl has developed a reputation as one of Europe’s prime artist-focused independent labels, inspiring an enduring loyalty among its artist roster.

Artists signed to Cooking Vinyl include Marilyn Manson, The Prodigy, Billy Bragg, Röyksopp, Madness, Alison Moyet, Turin Brakes, Gary Numan, Amanda Palmer, Seth Lakeman, Suzanne Vega, The Pretty Reckless, The Cult, Stornoway and Lissie. The diversity of our artists alone illustrates the culture and ethos of Cooking Vinyl. Releasing great records whilst maintaining artists’ satisfaction is paramount to what we achieve. Regardless of genre or profile, we work with our artists to ensure a robust album campaign and to build on their career success long-term. 

Cooking Vinyl also curated a series of panel discussions addressing the ever-changing landscape of the music industry, simply called The Future Of… kicking off withThe Future of The Record Deal, featuring industry experts including Mike Smith, Billy Bragg and our own Martin Goldschmidt. Cooking Vinyl’s Sync Team was nominated for the Music Week Sync Awards, while our Head of Digital won the Music Week ‘Women in Music Rising Star Award’. 2016 looks set to continue the label’s success with new offerings from The Cult, Lissie, The Rifles, Turin Brakes, Billy Bragg, Alison Moyet and new music from an iconic British singer-songwriter, Richard Ashcroft. Watch this space.
