The music of It’s Murph is quintessential feel-good EDM: bright, energetic, melodic singles like “Lost,” “Food for the Soul,” and “High and I Like It” that have lit up dancefloors during captivating sets from Coachella to Bonnaroo. Born into a family of music appreciators in Nashville, the young Garrett Murphy played piano and sang in his school choir -- but when he caught a set by Porter Robinson in high school, he knew he found his calling, and started working on tracks even before graduating. He honed his craft even further between classes at the University of Southern California, becoming an in-demand DJ at local parties. As It’s Murph, Murphy had his first breakthrough alongside RSCL and Twin Diplomacy on the 2022 collaborative track “Lost,” which garnered streams in the hundred millions. A year later -- months before he graduated USC -- he had his own moments of virality with tracks like the uplifting “Food for the Soul” and “High and I Like It.” Festival bookers soon came calling, and Murph played sets at Coachella and Bonnaroo, and gave a memorable performance at Electric Forest, where his initial set was canceled due to rain, prompting a rapturous make-up the next day. Murphy kept the good vibes going in 2024 with the singles “Down Low,” “Supersonic,” and “Fade Together,” as well as headlining club and festival dates across the U.S. and Europe.
