Instructional Goal Statement: Parents and students will be able to effectively locate and utilize online and offline curricula and tools. Objectives: 1.0 Online curriculum review Compass- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to log in, locate assignments and the portfolio 100% of the time. Big Universe- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to log in, locate assignments, and read books 100% of the time. RAZ Kids- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to log in, listen to and read books, record readings, take quizzes and buy items for their RAZ rocket 100% of the time. Discovery Education- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to log in, locate assignments, watch videos, complete animations, take quizzes and locate completed assignments 100% of the time. 2.0 Online curricula tools Blackboard- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to log in, locate online assignments, modifications, resources, email, online classroom and gradebook 100% of the time. Gmail- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to log in, locate new emails, reply to, compose and file emails 100% of the time.
Google Docs- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to complete attendance and a weekly checkup in a Google form and sign up for lesson times on a Google spreadsheet 100% of the time. 3.0 Offline Information Saxon Math- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to locate Saxon materials and online manipulatives and resources and understand how to schedule math 100% of the time. Sight Words- K- Given a screencast, parents and students will understand when to put words in the can and how to learn sight words and will email a photo of the created can. 1st- Given a screencast, parents and students will be able to create a word wall for sight words for the year and will email a photo of the created wall. School Information- Given the student handbook and a screencast on the reimbursement policy, parents will be able to locate answers to pertinent questions. Timeline: This timeline is set up for parents and students to spend the approximately one hour each school day (MondayThursday) the two weeks before school begins preparing for the year. The course will also be available during the school year for reference.
