    Significance of the study

    Nursing education Through the findings of the study, student nurses may identify contributory factors of home environment that may affect the academic performance of nursing students. They can make modifications or adjustments to make these factors favorable that may motivate them to excel in school and in actual work setting without compromising the quality of education a nursing student receives. Nursing research This study aims to determine possible home environment factors that may affect a nursing students academic performance in both school and actual work setting. Several researches were done to assess these factors; thus this study aims to emphasize which of these factors affect a nursing student the most. This will enable researchers to improve ways in alleviating or finding alternative solutions to correct the negative factors and reinforcing the positive ones. Nursing Administration This study will help the administrating officials, professors and clinical instructors as well of the university to become aware that certain home environment related factors may affect a nursing student to perform academically effectively; thus they would become involved in the reinforcement and learning process of the nursing student. This study might also help in determining the best approach with nursing students who were negatively affected at home and having difficulty caring out there academic potential to the fullest or in determining improved ways on encouraging more the nursing students who were exposed to positive factors at home. Nursing practice This study aims to help nursing students gain self-awareness and selfconfidence in effectively performing academically to their fullest potential by assessing home environment factors that may affect their academic

    performances so that nursing students might practice their skills without any hesitation. Also, this study aims to enlighten nursing, as well as medical, practitioners in understanding certain behaviors of nursing students at specific given situations, rendering clear communication among health care providers.
