(b) Discuss how the phase locked loop control is adopted in the closed loop control? 2. (a) obtain the transfer function of dc motor and discuss the need of using current and speed Controllers for dc motor. (b) Discuss the effect of output side harmonics of the six-pulse phase controlled converter on the Performance of a dc motor for continuous current conduction mode. UNIT-VI 1. Explain the operation of a two-quadrant d.c chopper fed separately excited d.c motor exhibiting forward motoring and forward regeneration modes with neat circuit diagram and wave forms. Also give speed-torque characteristics. 2.(a) explain the principle of regenerative brake control of a chopper fed separately excited dc motor. (b) a separately excited dc motor with armature resistance of 0.01ohms with dc supply 220V, 100A, 1000 RPM is fd with chopper for its motoring and braking operations. Assuming Continuous conduction, calculate (i) the duty ratio of the chopper at rated torque with speed of 500RPM for its mororing operation.
