I. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the pupils should be able to:
• Interpret a pictograph
• Read and write the legend in the pictograph
• Cooperate actively in a classroom discussion

1. Review
Children, we have discussed the parts of the pictograph yesterday. Let us recall
what are the parts of the pictograph. (Show a sample of a pictograph). Let the pupils
label the parts of the pictograph using the strips.

3. Motivation
Who among you like to watch TV? What is your favorite TV show? Would you like
to know how many pupils like to watch your favorite show also? Let’s find out?
B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
a. (The teacher will show a pictograph)
Legend: = 2 pupils
• Tell the pupils that this is a graph using pictures. It is called picture graph or
pictograph.
• Let the children look at the graph and ask them to answer the questions orally.
Questions:
1. What is the title of the graph?
2. How many pupils does it picture represent?
3. Which TV show is the most favorite of the pupils?
4. Which TV show is the least favorite of the pupils?
5. Which TV shows have the same number of pupils watched?

2. Guided Practice
a. Group Activities
The class will be divided in 3 Groups. Each group will be given an envelope with
pictograph inside. They’re going to analyze and answer the questions based from the
pictograph. The leader or representative of each group will present their work
3. Generalization
What is a pictograph? What helped us interpret the pictograph?
Pictograph is a pictorial representation of data. Legend helps us to interpret a
pictograph. .
C. Application
Each pupil will be given an activity sheet containing pictograph. They’re going to
answer the questions about the graph and the first one who will submit his activity sheet and
got all of the correct answer will win the game.
