1 The buried network earthling conductor on the site shall consist of a bare copper cable with a minimum cross-sectional area of 50 sq.mm, laid in a trench at a minimum depth of 0,6 m below ground level. 2.2 An earthing ring is laid around the tower / mast and connected to an earth rod electrode at four corners. Each corner rod is further connected to spread-out earth rod electrodes
Copper earth electrodes (copper bonded steel core rods) of diameter 16 mm (5/8) shall be driven to a depth of at least 2,4 meters at regular intervals( 2,4 to 4,8m) along the trenched earth conductor and connected to it. The number of earth electrodes will depend on the size of the earth ring. The distance (D) between the rods should be greater than the rod length (depth) (L), D = L to 2L.
The minimum size of the insulated copper cable from the nearest earth electrode to the earth terminal bar in the equipment room shall be 70 sq.mm.
