Third Grade Newsletter

ELA: Our next story will be Good-bye, 382 Shin Dang Dong. Genre: Realistic Fiction.
Comprehension Strategy: Authors Point of View. Vocabulary Strategy: Context Clues. Students took the test for The Legend of Damon and Pythias Wednesday. These will be graded and sent home next Thursday.

Math: Chapter 1: Place Value. Students will be able to read, write, and identify place value
through thousands place. All math homework is returned the following school day for lesson review. Please encourage your child to access the links on our class website under Student Resources/Math for extra practice on the computer.

Science: Our first focus in science this year is Process Skills. Please visit the Student
Resources/Science section of our webpage for more helpful information.

Social Studies: Understanding where we are located in the world (continent, country,
state, county, city). Students will begin to study the 6 regions of our state (the location on a map and the various differences between each area).
