    Our Class Mission

    We will come to school to learn and meet new friends. We will be proactive and become better leaders by using the Covey Habits. Our class will have fun, reach out to others, and love with full hearts.

    Hello parents! It is very important that you contact me to let me know when you can come in for a conference. The yellow conferencing sheet was sent home last week for you to return! I have added more information to our class website. Our spelling words are posted weekly along with reminders and other resources! Please check it out!

    The Week Ahead


    Reading: As a part of Daily 5 we will continue to build stamina and independence in our tasks. We will learn and use the tackling tricky words strategies to help decode words. We will compare and contrast narrative and informative texts. Letterland: We will decode and read words with all short vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u). We will sort words by vowel sound. We will learn the digraphs ch and qu. Writing: We will continue to write small moment narrative stories using the narrative writing rubric. We will edit our stories to prepare for our second writing celebration! Math: We will use a variety of ways to solve story problems, such as drawings, counting strategies, equations, number lines, and math mountains. We will solve for an unknown partner in a story problem. Science: We will measure with standard and nonstandard units. We will understand the importance of using a standard unit. Social Studies: We will understand what it means to be a good citizen. We will identify leaders in our community.
