    Our Class Mission

    We will come to school to learn and meet new friends. We will be proactive and become better leaders by using the Covey Habits. Our class will have fun, reach out to others, and love with full hearts.

    Here are the make-up dates we currently have scheduled from Wake County for the snow days on the week of January 28-31 and February 12-14. Wednesday, Jan. 29th Apr. 21 Thursday, Jan. 30th Mar. 28 Friday, Jan 31st Jun. 11 Feb. 12-14 March 7th (full day of school now) Wow! Green students have collected over $1500 for Pennies for Pasta! Thank you so much for your generosity!

    The Week Ahead


    Reading: This week we will begin studying different genres. We will introduce fantasy as a genre by investigating books by Dr. Seuss! We will compare fantasy texts to nonfiction texts and understand the authors purpose for writing each genre. Letterland: We are studying Magic e and Mr. A this week. The new spelling words are to the right! Writing: We shared our All About books with Ms. Rollinsons class last week, and now were off to a new unit Authors As Mentors. We are back into narrative writing and Dr. Seuss will be our first writing mentor! Math: We will continue to explore 3 dimensional shapes such as cylinders, cones, and rectangular prisms. We will compare 3D shapes to 2D shapes. Students should be bringing home their Geo Creations today! Science: Thursday and Friday we will rotate first grade classrooms for rock and soil investigations. Social Studies: Students will learn about cardinal directions and how to use them. They will learn how to use maps and map keys.
