PLACE VICTIM FLAT ON HIS/HER BACK ON A HARD SURFACE TAP VICTIM AT SHOULDERS AND SHOUT ARE YOU OKEY?

GET HELP
NO RESPONSE CALL FOR AN AMBULANCE/HELP. REQUEST HELPER / BY STANDER TO CALL FOR AN. AMBULANCE. IF ALONE SHOUT LOUDLY HELP! HELP! CONTINUE RESUSCITATION SEQUENCE UNTIL HELP ARRIVES

OPEN AIRWAY
Tilt the head back and listen for breathing. If not breathing normally, pinch nose and cover the mouth with yours and blow until you see the chest rise. Give 2 breaths. Each breath should take 2 seconds. Check for breathing : look listen fell : 5 10 seconds

CHECK FOR CIRCULATION


CAROTID PULSE : 5 1- SECONDS NO PULSE : EXTERNAL CHEST COMPRESSIONS ( ECC ) If the victim is still not breathing normally, coughing or moving, begin chest compressions. Push down on the chest 11/2 to 2 inches 30 times right between the nipples. Pump at the rate of 80 100/minute, faster than once per second.

CHEST COMPRESSIONS COMBINED WITH ARTIFICIAL VENTILATION. ALTERNATE 30 CHEST COMPRESSIONS TO 2 BREATHS VENTILATION. REPEAT SEQUENCE 3 TIMES TOTAL 4 TIMES

AFTER 4 CYCLES
CHECK FOR PULSE NO. PULSE CONTINUE CPR PULSE PRESENT CHECK FOR BREATHING PULSE BUT NO BREATHING : CONTINUE WITH EAR AT RATE. - 1 BREATH EVERY 5 SECONDS - 12 BREATHS PER MINUTE PULSE AND BREATHING RECOVERY POSITION.
