    This week we will continue to work on converting fractions into percentages and decimals. The students will learn how to convert simple fractions and then learn a strategy for converting any fraction to a decimal or percent.

    We have been working on and are continuing to use the Daily 5 within our classrooms. We will be working on literary essays in the fourth quarter through the use of Writers Workshop. We will also be reading and taking notes from informational books to support our science and social studies projects.

    Our final project for the year will incorporate both Science and Social Studies. Our students will build a colony on the moon. Students will research what life could be like on the moon, what resources they will need to set up their colony, and how the colony will be run. During this project students will also learn about the landforms of the moon and how the moon affects life on Earth.
