    FIRST, THEN, NEXT, FINALLY, BEFORE and AFTER are used to give sequence to

    actions.
    Example:
    9:25- First he walked in without knocking the door.
    9:27 - Then. he sat down
    9:28 - Next, he took his books.
    9:50- Finally, the teacher asked.
    Example:
    First they take a shower and then they have breakfast.
    Before having breakfast they take a shower. = Before breakfast they take a
    shower.
    After taking a shower they have breakfast. = After the shower they have
    breakfast.
    Notice that
    Before + verb + ing form
    After + noun

    Put each group of sentences in order and de use the expressions first, then and finally, one for each sentence.

    He called the doctor.


    He opened the window.
