Schema Project from CEPD 6101
CITI training in EDRS 6301
Pathfinders in MEDT 7474
Working on this project helped me to identify my students characteristics, knowledge construction/transfer, and motivation factors which affects the way they learn. Having this knowledge allows me to approach them in the way that is most likely to impact them, whether it is one-on-one, in a group, setting up peer assistance, or just guiding them in the right direction and letting them learn on their own.
The CITI training refreshed ethical research
Working as a group to create a wiki for students and teachers to find print, online, and media resources to support Georgia Performance Standards in social studies taught me that though initially the work may be time-consuming, it is ultimately a terrific resource for classrooms.

Collection analysis, book order, selection tools evaluations MEDT 6465
Handbook MEDT 6461 This project made me realize that some areas of the collection are in desperate need of updating and that certain materials need promotion the students naturally gravitate to what their friends are reading they dont necessarily realize how great of a selection is available to them in the media center.
Working on the handbook assignments allowed me to research a variety of policies and procedures in other districts, as well as the ones already established in my own.

Two Year Media Plan from MEDT 6466
Blogs, Stand- alone orientation, digital storytelling from MEDT 7477 This project made me think about reading programs for the entire school those students in the regular classroom, those in the Gifted program, and those in the Special Education program. In detailing one of the reading promotions, I realized with a bit of thought and some tweaking, all students can easily be included.
Bringing technology into the media center and/or classroom is not difficult. It can be integrated into current lessons instead of a response paper, add to a blog; rather than an oral presentation, create a digital story. Giving students options gives them more control and may even get them excited about turning in their assignments! Portfolio Matrix M.Ed./Add-On/Initial Certification in School Library Media

Professional Development Year-Long Agenda in MEDT 7461
The projects completed in MEDT 6401 (Instructional Technology) showed me how easy it was to integrate 21 st Century Skills into lessons. Collaborating with teachers will introduce them to these tools; working with the students in the media center will reinforce these skills for both the teachers and students.
Many of the teachers with whom I work are intimidated by technology. Hosting professional development that allows them to become familiar with some tools by creating a lesson while someone is there to help can help to coax them from their comfort zone.
4. Candidates demonstrate ability to serve needs of diverse populations including special needs 1.1 Knowledge of Learners and Learning 1.2 Effective and Knowledgeable Teacher 2.3 Respect for Diversity 3.2 Access to Information 5.4 Strategic Planning and Assessment PSC 1.f Student Learning 3.c Help All Students Learn 4.a Curriculum and Experiences 4.d Working with Diverse Students in P-12 Schools 7.c Children with Special Needs 7.d Integration of Technology

Student Impact assignment from MEDT 7461 (Instructional Design)
F.A.T. city videos from SPED 6706 Learning about the students I serve helps me to understand where they are and how best to help them. Not all students are alike; knowing living conditions, access to technology, whether a student is in the Gifted or Special Education program, and other demographic information all help to guide instruction.
While there wasnt an artifact from watching this series of videos, I will never forget them. I thought these videos were an excellent explanation of how students with learning disabilities experience classroom instruction. Absolutely eye-opening.
