CPM - Exercise

The project manager is missing the network diagram but knows the durations and slack times for each activity (A-G). Using this information: - The critical path has the largest possible duration given the ranges shown. - Activity E has the smallest positive slack. - Activity A's early finish time is 4 weeks but not equal to its late finish time. - Activity C has 8 weeks of slack. - Activity F's duration is at least 2 weeks longer than activity C.

Critical Path Method

Question
A project manager discovers that his team has neglected to
complete the network diagram for the project. The network
diagram is shown in Figure (next slide). However, the project
manager has some information available, specifically that
Each activity, labeled AG, has a different duration between
one and seven weeks. Also, the slack time for each of the
activities is known as shown below:

Network Diagram

Clues:
There exists only one critical path, and it is the largest

possible number given the possible durations shown.

Activity E has the smallest amount of slack that is
greater than zero.
The early finish (EF) time for activity A is four weeks,
and this does not equal the latest finish (LF) time.
(Note: There is no negative slack in the network.)
The slack in activity C is eight weeks.
The duration of activity F is greater than the duration
of activity C by at least two weeks.
