SCOPE OF WORK
1.1

INTRODUCTION
Tengizchevroil, a joint venture Company between Chevron, Exxon-Mobil, LUKoil,
and the Kazakhstan Government (hereinafter known as the TCO), intends to
replace the existing 2D-501.1 vessel with a new one.
This Job Pack is for the construction of a slab with protective bund to collect service
water from 2D-501.1.
The design comprises a concrete bund around the perimeter of a concrete slab.
The slab has a slope for draining technical water to a sump which drains to an
existing K3 manhole. A penstock in the sump will control the discharge. Joints
between the existing foundations and new slab are sealed with a polysulfide
sealant.

1.2

SCOPE
This scope of work shall be read in conjunction with the TCO Project Drawings, the
documentation referenced in Section 2 of this scope of work, as well as revision 3
of Addendum to Standard Job Pack for all disciplines FE-A-JP-0001. By reference
hereinafter, these drawings and documentation form an integral part of the WORK
to be performed by the CONTRACTOR. The scope of work shall essentially
comprise the following:

1.2.1 CIVIL WORKS


1. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for obtaining all special permits and work
permits to allow construction and installation of the works.
2. The CONTRACTOR shall prepare detailed method statements for the works and
submit them to TCO for approval. Construction works shall not start until this
method statement approval is obtained.
3. The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for accurately setting out the works as per
the project drawings.
4. The CONTRACTOR shall demolish and later re-install 8No typical bollards 0.5
meters to the North from existing location. The CONTRACTOR should demolish
concrete blinding a width of about 600mm where it adjoins to existing foundation;
cable trays are adjacent to outer side of existing foundation shall be relocated on
top of concrete.
5. The CONTRACTOR shall excavate by hand only to the required founding level as
shown on the project drawings, taking all necessary precautions as required
including temporary shoring, bridging and bracing.
6. The CONTRACTOR shall stockpile material suitable for reuse on site. All other
material, including unsuitable or contaminated material, shall be shall be tested for
contamination and removed to in accordance with the TCO representatives
instructions to a designated TCO site.
7. The CONTRACTOR shall provide all necessary equipment (pumps, dewatering
equipment etc) to ensure that the excavations are kept free from water such that all
works can be performed in dry conditions.

8. The CONTRACTOR shall compact the soil at the bottom of excavation, lay
geotextile membrane and structural fill compacted in layers of 300mm. Structural fill
will be available from the TCO borrow pit within 20km of the site. The
CONTRACTOR shall provide the material transportation.
9. The CONTRACTOR shall place 50mm of blinding concrete then install waterproof
membrane as shown on the drawings.
10. The CONTRACTOR shall provide and install all formwork required to neatly cast
the concrete slab and bund to the dimensions and falls as shown on the project
drawings. Slab should provide a continuous fall to the sump.
11. The CONTRACTOR shall bend and install the reinforcement bars and cast in items
to the dimensions shown on the project drawings.
12. The CONTRACTOR shall install compressible bitumen impregnated filler board at
locations where slab is adjacent the existing foundations, in accordance with the
project drawings.
13. The CONTRACTOR shall cast concrete and manufacture and test concrete test
cubes and maintain records in accordance with specification Q-ST-2020. It is the
CONTRACTORS responsibility to ensure that the concrete is correctly cured after
casting.
14. The CONTRACTOR shall coat all concrete from a depth of 150mm below ground
and up to 300mm above ground with a low viscosity primer followed by two coats of
light grey coloured epoxy paint with an overall thickness of 250 microns.
15. The CONTRACTOR shall coat the surfaces of all concrete below ground with 3
coats of modified bitumen to give a total thickness of 1.0mm, overlapping the epoxy
coating by 75mm.
16. The CONTRACTOR shall install

17. The CONTRACTOR shall seal all concrete joints with pouring grade polysulphide
sealant in accordance with manufacturers instructions and as shown on the project
drawings.
18. The CONTRACTOR shall break out an opening in the wall of existing manhole and
install a section of GRE pipe with puddle flange, using hydrophilic sealant around
the pipe. Cast EMACO S88CT concrete repair mortar around the pipe. Coat
external face of concrete with 3 coats of modified bitumen to give a total thickness
of 1 mm.
19. The CONTRACTOR shall lay GRE (glass reinforced epoxy) pipe from the sump to
the existing sewer manhole with continuous falls minimum, 1 in 100. Pipe to be
bedded and surrounded with 6mm granular material wrapped in geotextile as
shown on TCO Standard drawing L-ST-2000. Carry out pipe testing prior to
backfilling trench.
20. The CONTRACTOR shall backfill pipe trench and around the manholes with
selected excavated material, compacting in layers to achieve 95% modified Proctor.
Place detectable green marker tape above pipeline.
21. The CONTRACTOR shall remove all debris, construction materials tools etc are
removed from site and ensure that the site is left in a clean and tidy state.

1.2.2 ELECTRICAL WORKS


This part of the job pack covers electrical activities related with modification of the
existing earthing system and shall be carried out in conjunction with the works
described in civil part of this job pack.
Because of installation of the concrete bund around the perimeter of the 2D-501.1
vessel existing earthing system of this vessel shall be rearranged.
PLEASE COORDINATE WITH OPERATIONS TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING
WORK:

Before any type of work is started a work permit is to be issued.


Before a work permit is issued Operations should confirm the area is safe
where work is to be performed.
All relevant TCO safety instructions are to be followed during work
performance.
All relevant TCO PTE and PTB instructions are to be followed during work
performance.

1.2.2.1 SCOPE OF WORK


CONTRACTOR shall verify all equipment is isolated and all required permits /
JHA are available.
CONTRACTOR shall ensure safe and efficient performance of the works under
TCO Representative Supervision
CONTRACTOR shall follow all electrical safety requirements as per PTB and PTE

Earthing system
(1) CONTRACTOR shall perform all necessary installation works detailed herein and
shall coordinate with TCO Construction Group Representative.
(2) CONTRACTOR shall excavate new trench for installation earth cable according
drawing 2-500_1-P-5154. Install new earthing cable into the trench.
(3) CONTRACTOR shall connect new cable to existing earth circuit in two points - in
the earth pit P3 and in location near from the point connection stair to earth system
(4) CONTRACTOR shall backfill the new trench after completion of all activities related
with installation new earth cable.

B)

As Built Mark up
(1) CONTRACTOR shall perform As Built mark ups (in Red) of any changes made at
site with respect to the AFC Drawings / Documents.
(2) Other drawings which do not require any updates will have a NO CHANGE remark.
(3) CONTRACTOR shall provide all required checking and testing protocols. All
protocols to be submitted when completed and in a timely manner.
(4) A set of completed as-built documents shall be handed over to Design Engineering

PROJECT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

1.3.1 Nature Use Permit (Emission Payments)


A) Unless otherwise notified during the bid process, TCO requests the Contractor to
use his Republic of Kazakhstan (RoK) approved Nature Use Permit (NUP) covering
the current calendar year estimated emissions. In compliance with this NUP, the
Contractor is responsible for payment of any fees associated with emissions
generated during the execution of a TCO project. All costs related to late payment
penalties or interest is for Contractor's account.
B) Some TCO projects will require the Contractor to apply for a project specific RoK
NUP. When applicable, the Contractor will be notified during the bidding process,
either by specific instructions in the Job Packs, or other written communication, that
a Project specific RoK NUP is required to execute the Project. In these instances,
the Contractor shall submit documentation of their Project specific RoK NUP to the
TCO Construction Engineer prior to the start of work. Contractor shall provide
proof of fee payment(s) at the end of the project, and prior to submitting final
invoice for works completed. All costs related to late payment penalties or interest
is for Contractor's account.

1.3.2

CONTRACTOR shall designate, in a similar fashion, a contact representative for


technical supervision and communication. Please refer to TCO Project Number 12-378
in all communications to ensure proper routing to the responsible parties.

1.4 SCAFFOLDING
1.4.1 CONTRACTOR shall supply all scaffolding materials needed to perform the
work, including fireproof scaffolding boards etc., per TCO requirements. All necessary
scaffolding materials needed to perform the work shall be in compliance with the
requirements of TCOs Safety Instruction SI-152.
