    STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

    TASK NO. THKP 017


    :Clean blinds
    SECTION
    :Housekeeping
    APPLICABLE POSITIONS
    :Housekeeping

    STANDARD

    :The room attendants will clean the blinds to the standard as


    expected by the housekeeping department.

    EQUIPMENT:

    A small broom or brush, clean cloths, and heavy utility gloves.

    PROCEDURE :

    Wear heavy latex utility gloves.


    Gloves will prevent cuts from the sharp edges of blinds.
    Use a clean cloth, a small broom, or a brush to wipe the dust from the blinds.
    Use a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth to clean stubborn dirt from each slat.
    Make sure you do not miss any slats.
    Wipe the rods, poles, and cords of the blinds.
    Wipe the area behind the blinds.
    Test blinds to make sure they work correctly.
    Pull the cord to raise and lower the blinds.
    Twist the rod to open and close the slats.
    Report any problems to the maintenance department.
