This professional development training taught Ashley King how to perform CPR on older children and adults, as well as first aid tips for emergencies. She believes that all teachers should know CPR and first aid, especially science teachers, since science classrooms carry a higher risk of accidents. Ashley plans to use the skills from this training to respond to emergencies like a student choking or needing first aid during a lab if she has her own classroom in the future.

Please respond to the following prompts:
1. Summarize the key points you learned from this Professional Development experience. In this CPR training, I learned how to do CPR on older children and adults. I also learned First Aid tips for emergencies. 2. Discuss how these key points connect to your content area. I think that it is important for all teachers to know CPR and first aid. First aid is extremely important in a science classroom. So many more accidents can happen in a scientific classroom compared to other classrooms and because of this, science teachers should be educated in first aid as well as CPR. 3. Share how you might use this new information in your future classroom I would use this if I had an emergency happen in my classroom. This information would be helpful to me if a student choked on something, or if a lab emergency occurred and a student needed first aid help.
